Artistic Process
The Journey
Water embodies the essence of my creative journey—its fluidity and unpredictability shape the expressive nature of my work. I primarily work with watercolor paints, drawing inspiration from organic forms, soft washes, and layered textures to create art that feels ethereal yet grounded in the beauty of nature.
Mixed media techniques, including collage and printmaking, unique substrates, and vibrant colors enhance my artwork and bring joy to my process. Blending colors directly on the paper or canvas, I achieve a fresh, painterly style that allows the colors to interact organically. I utilize different mark-making tools, such as palette knives, rubber wedges, and even my fingers, to create unique textures and effects. This approach gives my work a dynamic quality, as each stroke contributes to a rich and layered visual experience.
At the heart of my art is the harmony between abstraction and recognizable form, capturing the essence of nature while eliciting deep emotions. My pieces intertwine flowing shapes, gentle washes, and dynamic mark-making, inviting viewers to explore and connect with the world around them.
In addition to fine art, I embrace a whimsical spirit through playful watercolor illustrations. This serves as a space for me to explore new color palettes, themes, and ideas in a fun, lighthearted way, adding a joyful touch to my core artistic style.
